The Myth Of The Sports Expert

One thing I’ve never been a fan of is the word “expert”. We hear it all the time, in whichever game we are following. Be it the end of a quarter, a half time period or a timeout, we are passed over for a quick word from our “experts”.

To me there are no experts. Everyone sees the same game differently. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been following your chosen sport for a week, a year or for decades. You take what you want from it, you see it your way and you draw your own conclusions.

I am quite positive that I can have some strange views about happenings within different games. It has been stated to me. But I never thought that any of my ideas where that much of a reach that some might think I am simply spamming or fishing (God knows there are a lot of them kind of people out there). I’m pretty sure I can back it up and though I can (and more than likely will) argue it out to the bitter end, trust me, I value everyone’s opinion.

So yes, while I know that I have quite a good grasp of most sports, I am self-aware enough to realise that I am far from an expert. As is every other person that you might see on the TV, read on social media, or listen to down the local pub.

Started doing blogs as part of a college course, and started to enjoy them as time went on. Marketing is the focal point for many of my blogs but its also interesting to cover other areas.
